Q. What is the difference
between Nur76 Anti-Ageing Original and Advanced?
A. The difference with the
Nur76 Advanced Anti-Ageing serum is that it paralyses the muscles
for more longer time than the Nur76 Original Serum therefore
the results are more better for the long term. In our clinical
trial, results was visibly noticeable within a week of usage.
With the added ingredients Hexapeptide-3 vitamin B5, Collagen
and Vegetal Ceramid the skin has 40% more firmness than the
Nur76 original serum.
Clinical trials for the Nur76 Advanced Anti-Ageing serum was
sent to all previous volunteers (500) who participated in the
last trial for Nur76 Serum and 192 new volunteers between the
age group of 25- 57. In Clinical trial 90% commented that the
Nur76 Advance serum had a faster effect on paralysing the muscles
on face and The Anti Aging Gel Moisture made their skin more
firmer and helped to reduce wrinkles further. The only difference
is that the Advance serum brought result faster than the Nur76
Serum and result lasted much longer. The serums works very similar
to Botox® Injection.
Q. Is it possible to use the
Anti-Ageing Serum with the skin lightening Serum?
A. It is not recommended to
use both products at the same time although it will not cause
any problems to your skin. We recommend to first try out the
skin lightening products (can try Skin lightening for face,
Fade out under eye circle and Skin lightening body lotion together
as a package) after you achieve the desired result you can use
the Nur76 Anti-Aging products. This is because results are better
achieved as ingredients is more effective when one product is
used at one time. Once one skin problems is solved, such as
pigmentation problem, then you can try the Anti-Aging to fade
any lines/wrinkles out.
Q. How much do the product
cost in US dollars?
A. You can use the currency

The currency rates in different countries will be changing all
the time, please check for up-date.
FAQ:
Nur76 Anti-Ageing Products
Q. Hi, a friend of mine
bought Nur76 Anti-Ageing serum' back in DEC, and it seem to
be working great. I just wanted to know are the effects (reducing
wrinkles) a permanent feature even if you stop using the product,
just say after you use it all), or is it as long as you use
the product wrinkles will be reduced.
A. You can stop using the
Nur76 Anti-Ageing Serum once you get the desired look, however
as your skin ages your lines/wrinkles are likely re-appear again.
Our body is genetically coded to take part in the aging process.
Presently there is no product available in this world weather
it's plastic surgery or anti-ageing product which will deliver
a permanent look to last forever. So the best we can do is use
products which will help to reduce the ageing process.
What Nur76 Anti-Ageing Serum does is that
it provides collagen and right supplements for your skin to
look younger and vibrant. The efficacy of the product is to
relax the "laugh lines" around the mouth, eyes, and
forehead, and to plump up the epidermis to smooth out little
wrinkles and "crow's feet". The Nur76 Anti-Ageing
Serum helps build collagen in your skin. With progressive aging,
collagen in skin usually breaks down and normally less and less
is naturally produced within the body. Component of collagen
which makes up much of the material in between cells and provides
structure to various organs, such as the eyes, joints and skin,
Nur76 Serum Simply helps restore the collagen back into skin.
Q. Does Nur76 Advanced Anti-Ageing
Serum cause any itching/rash?
A. Nur76 Advanced Anti-Ageing
Serum contains all natural and powerful plant extracts which
is very gentle to the skin but at the same time effective. There
has been over 10,000 customers who have used this product there
has been no report on any person experiencing any side effects
such as itching. So the answer to this is it should not cause

while lightening the skin at the same time.
Q. What happens to your skin, after you obtain the
desired colour and discontinue the cream?
A. Once you achieve the desired result

Skin Lightening?
A. There are no known long term effects
as the ingredients are all from plant extract, they work naturally
with the skin.
Q. Can your skin colour become completely white like
some celebrities like Michael Jackson?
A. No -because the Nur76 Skin
Lightening controls the level of melanin production not eliminate
melanin production. The ingredients helps lighten the skin by
inhibiting the production of melanin which causes darker skin
colour & age spots. As the skin naturally renews itself
every 4-8 weeks, old pigmented cells are sloughed off &
cells with less melanin will be brought to the surface giving
the skin radiant complexion.
Q. Will I be permanently
white?
A. Our product does not
stop the production of melanin, it just slows the rate down.
But our products help people lighten and even out the skin tones.
Most of our customers continue to apply for maintenance of the
benefits although the frequency of application is less then.
Results would not last forever, as we age,
our skins’ tone and at times complexion changes. But our
products help people lighten and even out the skin tones. Most
of our customers continue to apply for maintenance of the benefits
although the frequency of application is less then. There are
a few main factors which contribute for skin to cause pigmentation
problems or to darken: 1/ ageing 2/stress or illness 3/pregnancy
& hormonal changes – pregnancy mask 4/sun 5/bad diet
Q. I only want to use the
cream on my face and neck as they are the parts of my skin that
are darker than the rest of my body - will the cream work in
evening out the skin tone?
A. The cream lightens the
part on which it is applied. So it is entirely up to you how
much you wish to apply to get the balance right for your body
Q. I darken terribly in
the sun. Will the cream prevent that from happening?
A. Yes the Nur76 skin lightening
protection will help that.
Q. How old do you need to be to start using Nur76
skin lightening?
A. We recommend above age
16. People age at different rates usually people show the first
signs of aging after the age of 24. Dark marks/spot and other
skin problems due to ageing and other factors start to appear
on the skin surface. Skin especially under the age of 16 is
usually youthful and vibrant because it is still developing
and not in the process of ageing yet! Also because the age being
so young it may not be an ideal age to decide on the reason
for wanting to change the skin to a lighter shade.
Please view psychology on skin lightening The product is
not suitable for babies/young children.
Q. I am a Asian women and I have
a lot of dark spots appearing on my cheeks, I know there are many Asians
who have
this same problem as me, can you please tell me
why Asian people get these
dark spots on their cheeks, and is there any way to prevent this from
happening?
A. Asian skin tends to be smooth
and pore less with yellow undertones. Asian skin is more prone to irritation.
Commonly used preservatives, fragrances and alcohol suitable for Caucasian
skin can actually cause irritation when used on Asian skin. Asian skin
has larger pores than Caucasian skin. Asian skin has a greater need
for daily exfoliation to minimize the appearance of pores and even
out skin tone and texture.
Generally, hyper-pigmentation (dark spots) has an
earlier onset than wrinkles and laxity (loss of firmness) on Asian skin.
Pre-mature aging
is less common. This explains why Asians are more concerned about skin
lightening than they are about age spot treatment, which in turn is the
concern of Caucasians. Skin colour becomes darker with age—a function
of both melanin content and haemoglobin (red blood cells) level on the
skin. The Japanese have the lightest skin tone, and therefore have low
melanin content and skin redness. Indians have the darkest skin tone,
and therefore high melanin content and skin redness. Filipino (Malay)
skin is somewhere in between. More women consider their skin acne-prone
and sensitive in the summer. But while acne-prone and sensitive skin
go together, the younger ones skew to the former and the older to the
latter. Skin moisture decreases with age, and is exacerbated in less
humid months. While it is associated with less skin moisture and more
irritation, Asian skin is generally in good condition during cooler months.
This is perceived to be the result of reduced sun exposure, making skin
colour lighter or less yellow, and improving bio mechanical properties
(i.e. elasticity) and structures (i.e. collagen). There is a slight increase
in skin oil at this time since oil glands are working harder to compensate
for lower skin moisture. As a result, fewer wrinkles are observed. Skin
turns yellowish with age. This is more pronounced in Chinese and Korean
skin than other racial groups. However, Filipino (Malay) skin is most
sallow to begin with. Asian skin oiliness is associated with humid environment
as well as high usage of foundation/powder.
Now coming back to your question on how to
prevent this from happening is to ensure to use a good sun block
with at least SPF 15 UVA/U. Also to maintain or obtain good
skin requires basic regimen: a healthy diet, exercise, plenty
of water and eight hours of sleep contributes to looking healthy
and beautiful. To protect yourself on a daily basis, we suggest
using sunscreen of at least 15 SPF or more on your face and
neck every day no matter the weather. Why? Getting into a routine
means you won't miss a day. You need skin protection even if
the day is cloudy (the sun's rays easily penetrate clouds).

Q. I have dark circles under my eyes
will the skin lightening serum for face do the same job as the "Fade
out
under eye dark circles" ?
A. The skin lightening for
face is ideal to use on the face, you can use the skin lightening
serum for under eye to get the same effect however we advise
not to, because the skin around the eye area is more sensitive
to the skin on your face so we formulated a gel which will work
well around the eyes without any irritation and overall give
you the result you are looking for. Click here to learn more
about Nur76 "Fade
out under eye circle".
Not all skin is created equal.
For example, the skin of the soles is thick and hard, the skin of the
scalp has embedded hair follicles, and the skin of the nose and cheeks
tends to have particularly active sebaceous glands. The skin around
the eye has its own special traits:
- It has virtually no sebaceous glands, which makes
it highly prone to dryness.
- It is much thinner and more sensitive than other facial
skin.
- It overlies a particularly dense capillary network and has
minimal fat padding, which makes the eye area prone to puffiness.
- It is stressed by frequent eye movements and squinting.
- All of the
above often makes the eye area the first place where signs of aging
appear on the face. The faces of twenty five and thirty
five year old people
usually differ mainly in the eye area. Thirty five year olds are
a lot more likely to have fine lines and bags under the eyes;
some will even
have crow's
feet. Not surprisingly, when we try to estimate someone's age,
the appearance of the eye area is always one of the key factors. Therefore,
if you want
to keep looking young as long as possible, it is usually not enough
to take care
of your skin in general. You need to neutralize a natural tendency
of the skin in the eye area to age faster than the rest of your
face.
Q. I have dark circle around my eyes
which look deep and hollow will the "Fade out under eye circle" help?
A. There are many reason why people
get dark circle, if the dark circles are caused from hyper-pigmentation
the Nur76 Fade
out under eye circles will help to reduce the dark pigmentation. To

Q. Is Nur76 skin lightening suitable for sensitive
skin type?
A. Yes, it is suitable for all skin
types, it does not cause any skin irritation or side effects. The ingredients
are all
natural plant extracts and has no known to cause no side effects on
skin.
Q. I put some serum around
my mouth and I accidentally tasted it, it tasted very bitter,
why is that?
The reason why it taste a bitter some say it taste
tangy it is because of Vitamin C and also because of the other ingredients
such as plant extracts. It does not contain any artificial colour or
flavours to make it smell nice or taste good. Basically this product
delivers the results
you are looking for, and unfortunately it cannot be glossy at the same
time on the surface, as long as it works below the surface that's
all
that matters! :)
Q. Why do you add Vitamin C, isn't
it more for eating than applying to your skin?
A. Vitamin C is one of the
most widely used skin care ingredients. The variety of skin
rejuvenation / anti-wrinkle products. Vitamin C can benefit
skin in two important ways. Firstly, vitamin C is essential
for the synthesis of collagen, a key structural protein of the
skin. Adding vitamin C to a culture of skin cells (fibroblasts)
dramatically increases the synthesis of collagen. Secondly,
vitamin C is an antioxidant and can help reduce skin damage
caused by free radicals. So, when vitamin C is properly delivered
into skin cells, there is a good chance to reduce wrinkles and
improve skin texture.
Q. I have birth mark will
it work on this mark?
A. If you have birth marks-
unfortunately it will not work to lighten the birth mark as
it is not a pigmentation problem. However it will lighten the
skin around the mark. Birth marks are genetic heredity and will
not work with creams.
Q. Please advise, I have
vitiligo will this product help?
A. I am sorry to hear that
you suffer from vitiligo. I am afraid there have been no reports
from people benefiting from our products who have vitiligo.
However the Nur76 ADVANCED 3-IN-1 will lighten the skin around
the vitiligo areas.
Q. I am living in Africa,
will this help me with the extreme heat of sun?
A. If you are based in Africa
-Yes it should help you in Africa as well. Although the fact
that you will be exposed to sun more often means that the benefits
may take a bit longer and also the benefits might not be as
good as seen in Afro-Caribbean population in the UK.
Q. How do you use the Nur76
product?
A. Please make sure you
look at the back of the box which explains how to use the product.
The terms of use are also on the web sites.
Q. I want lighten my nipple
area will this help?
A. The nipple area is normally
darker than the rest the body and is genetically this way with
people. If the nipple area is caused to darken much worse due
to exposure of the sun, then the skin lightening body lotion
may possibly help, however we have not had any feedback on this
part yet. If the area has always been darker since you can remember
then there is very little things you can do. It is best to seek
advice from GP or cosmetic surgeons if you are very worried.
Please don't worry as this is completely normal to be darker
than the rest of the body.
Q. If I continue to use
the cream post 90 days treatment, will it make my skin even
lighter?
A. Yes it should continue
to lighten your skin.

accurate to recommend a weight range, rather than a specific weight for
a given height. Here, we've made it easy for you. Simply check your height

Body mass index, BMI, is a number
generated by dividing your weight in kilograms by your height in meters squared.

Ingredients |
Description of how the ingredient works! |
| Acetyl Hexapeptide-3 |
Actyl Hexapeptide-3 is the
substitute of ‘Botox ‘without its bad side effects. The
ingredient in Nur76 Anti-Ageing is Acetyl Hexapeptide 3.
It is a non-toxic amino-peptide developed specifically
to reduce wrinkles and signs of premature aging. Acetyl Hexapeptide
3 is a cost-effective alternative to injections and surgical
procedures. Acetyl Hexapeptide 3 temporarily limits the overproduction
and
release of neurotransmitters that initiate and control the
intensity of facial
muscle contractions. This reduction in intensity reduces and
prevents the formation of dynamic wrinkles that make your skin
look aged.
This powerful ingredient reduces muscle contractions in a non-paralytic
fashion and without toxic side effects. It is naturally derived
and non-irritating to the skin. Attaching the hexapeptide to
the fatty
acid, acetyl, allows the resulting amino-peptide to be easily
absorbed into the skin.
At a 10% concentration, Acetyl Hexapeptide 3 has been shown to reduce
the depth of wrinkles up to 30% after 30 days of trial use. (source:
International Journal of Cosmetic Science, Vol. 24, No 5, p.303,
October 2002). Currently, doctors are beginning to recommend use
of Acetyl Hexapeptide 3 skin serums in conjunction with paralytic
injections to prolong those results. |
| Aloe Extract |
A concentration derived from one of the oldest medicinal
plants known. A- It has remarkable healing properties that can
draw and hold oxygen to the skin. B- It is one of the most
effective cellular renewal ingredients available. C- The plants
composition
is similar to that of human blood plasma and seawater and,
because its pH is the same as the human skin, it is extremely
soothing
and protective. It is a natural astringent! |
| Avocado Oil |
Natural oil cold-pressed from the avocado fruit
that is rich in vitamins B1, B2, A, D & E, H, amino acids,
and minerals. An excellent skin conditioner and moisturizer, this
emollient oil is high in essential fatty acids to soothe and heal
dry skin. Avocado Oil is a rapidly penetrating oil with anti-oxidant
properties that help protect against free radical and photo damage.
Avocado oil is renowned for its healing, anti-bacterial, and anti-wrinkle
properties. The high content of lecithin and phytosterols, facilitates
its spread ability. It stimulates the collagen metabolism, increasing
the proportion of soluble collagen in the dermis, retarding visible
signs of ageing and remarkably softening the skin. Research from
UCLA Centre for Human Nutrition in California indicates that avocados
have the highest Vitamin E content compared to kiwifruit, nectarines,
grapes, and peaches. Vitamin E is known to be powerful antioxidant
'mopping up' free radicals and helping to decelerate the signs of
ageing, therefore avocado oil is Natures' very special antioxidant.
Skin care products use the natural ability of avocado oil to regenerate
connective skin tissue and to inhibit bacterial growth.
Avocado oil is an excellent base for ointments used for treating
lacerations, dermatitis, acne and similar skin conditions. Also for
post-operative dressings to prevent adhesions to wounds and skin
burns whilst accelerating the actual healing process. |
| Bearberry Extract (Arbutin) |
Uva Ursi (or manzanita). A natural source of hydroquinone
(pigment lightener) due to the astringency of the tannin acid found
in the berries and leaves of this plant. Also contains arbutin
which can inhibit melanin production. Bearberry inhibits the production
of tyrosinase and also naturally decreases existing pigment. Arbutin:
A new type of skin de-pigmentation and whitening agents, an extract
of the Bearberry plant which is produced by a solid /liquid extraction,
an environmentally friendly process. Arbutin protects the skin
against damage caused by free radicals. Arbutin inhibits the formation
of melanin pigment by inhibiting Tyrosinase activity.
Arbutin is used to prevent pigmentation and to lighten the skin tone. Also used
to prevent liver spots and freckles, to treat sunburn marks and to regulate melanogenesis.
Arbutin is a very safe skin agent for external use which does not have toxicity,
stimulation, unpleasant odour or side effects such as Hydroqinone. The encapsulation
of Arbutin constitutes a delivery system to potentialise the effect in time.
It is a way to incorporate the hydrophilic Arbutin in lipophilic media. Arbutin
gives three main properties; Whitening effects (skin lightening), anti- age effect
and UVB/ UVC filter. |
| Caprylic/Capric Triglyceride |
A mixture of glycerin,
caprylic acid and capric acid. An emollient ester derived from
coconut oil with good lubricating and spreading properties. Helps
products to glide on the skin. |
| Ceramide |
Is a natural part of the cell membrane in the outermost
layer of the epidermis. They are critical in helping the skin to
maintain its moisture-binding and protective barrier functions.
Since ceramides make up 40% of the lipid (oily) component of the
intercellular cement which binds epidermal skin cells together,
they play a key role in maintaining the moisture level and firmness
of the skin.
A chronic decline of the ceramide concentration in the skin's intercellular
cement has been demonstrated to be part of the skin aging process,
as it allows penetration of damaging environmental elements and results
in trans epidermal evaporation of moisture.
What is a Ceramide's Function?
Intercellular cement in the skin performs the same function as mortar
between the bricks in a wall. As the wall ages, the mortar becomes
porous and cracks. Ceramide is the substance in the skin which prevents
this from happening to the intercellular cement.
The amount of ceramides in the epidermis proportionately influences
the skin's dryness - fewer ceramides result in drier skin and more
wrinkles. Applying cermides to your skin results in increased moisture
retention in the epidermis.
Ceramides are also excellent restorative care for skin that has been
abraded or over-exposed to the elements. Damage caused by mechanical
rubbing, wind, burning, sunburn, or chemical peeling shows faster
recovery and moisture replenishment with regular ceramide application. |
| Cetearyl Olivate |
Derived from olive oil, cetearyl olivate is an emulsifier
that is often blended with sorbitan olivate. Together, these emulsifiers
help mix oil- and water-based ingredients and help to give a product
a luxurious, smooth feel. |
| Chamomile Extract |
Herb that has research showing it to have anti-irritant,
soothing, and antioxidant properties. |
| Co-enzyme Q10 |
Co-enzyme Q10 has two important roles: it is an
essential part of the cellular respiration system located in the
mitochondria, and it is an antioxidant. CoQ10 improves both the
rate and efficiency of energy production in the cells, including
the skin and at the same time protects mitochondria from free radicals.
CoQ10 is sometimes called a "biomarker of aging" because
its level correlates so well with aging.
In most people over thirty, levels of CoQ10 in the skin is below
optimum, resulting in a lesser ability to produce collagen, elastin
and other important skin molecules. CoQ10-depleted skin may also
be more prone to the damage by free radicals, which are particularly
abundant with exposure of the skin to the elements. Thus, CoQ10 may
boost skin repair and regeneration. Furthermore, CoQ10 is a small
molecule that can relatively easily penetrate into skin cells. |
| Grape Seed Oil |
In all products grape seed oil is a preferred cosmetic
ingredient for damaged and stressed tissues, possessing regenerative
and restructuring qualities which allow a better control of skin
moisturisation. It can help skin retain the normal structure of
epithelium cells and nerve cells via supporting the cell membranes.
It is noted to be especially effective for repair of the skin around
the eyes. Used as an all-over skin moisturizer, grape seed oil
is known to reduce the look of stretch marks. A light thin oil,
grape seed oil leaves a glossy film over the skin when used as
a carrier oil for essential oils in aromatherapy. It contains more
linoleic acid than many other carrier oils. Grape seed oil is also
usable as a lubricant for shaving your face. |
| Hyaluronic Acid |
A substance found in the connective tissue of the
body that cushions and lubricates. Hyaluronic acid also creates
volume in the face, giving it a healthy, youthful appearance.
Collagen and elastin supporter. A protein occurring in the skin that
appears to bind water in the interstitial spaces between skin cells
while it forms a gel-like substance to hold these cells together |
| Hydrolized Soy Protein |
A naturally derived vegetable protein produced by
the enzymatic hydrolysis of soy flour. It increases the skin’s
moisture binding capabilities, while smoothing and minimizing roughness
and wrinkles. Used in hair care, it helps enhance gloss and texture,
increase moisture retention, and improve body and manageability. |
| ginkgo extract |
These compounds were effective in skin conditioning
and controlling active oxygen and lipid peroxidation in the skin in
low concentration overall imroves skin condition. |
| Licorice Extract |
Rebalances dermal cells & helps reduce the formation
of melanin, (pigment that gives skin color). Offers significant
healing effects, plus firming, soothing, emollient and anti-bacterial
benefits. Glycyrrhetinic acid, isolated from Glycyrrihiza glabra
(licorice) is widely used in the cosmetic industry. Licorice inhibit
tyrosinase activity of melanocytes without any cytotoxicity, it
also showed that UV-B–induced pigmentation. The anti-inflammatory
properties of Licorice were attributed to inhibition of super-oxide
anion production and cyclo-oxygenase activity. Tyrosinase is a
copper-containing enzyme that promotes the oxidation of phenols
(as tyrosine ) and is widespread in plants and animals. |
| Magnesuim ascorbyl phosphate |
Magnesuim ascorbyl phosphate is a water-soluble
derivative of vitamin C rapidly gaining popularity in skin care.
It is nonirritating and more stable than vitamin C. Most importantly,
magnesuim ascorbyl phosphate appears to have the same potential
as vitamin C to boost skin collagen synthesis but is effective
in significantly lower concentrations. Overall, magnesuim ascorbyl
phosphate appears to be a better choice than vitamin C for people
with sensitive skin and those wishing to avoid any concomitant
exfoliating effects. (Most vitamin C formulas are highly acidic
and therefore produce exfoliation.)
Skin care products with magnesuim ascorbyl phosphate are available
and their number is growing. Be careful though. Many products contain
less than effective concentration and fail to boost collagen synthesis |
| Meristem Extract |
Meristem is the tissue of a green plant where cell
division and growth occurs. For cosmetic purposes, normally a watery
extract is produced from oak bark. It is soothing, reduces swelling
and tightens the skin. |
| Milk Protein |
Milk's ability to nourish dry skin, gently renew
cells and seal moisturing comfort into the skin barrier, comes from
its unique protein structure. Natural milk and whey proteins are
extremely hydrous - your skin literally drinks them in, deep into
the cell layer. Than milk's protein matrix holds in moisture to give
your skin a smooth feel and lasting radiance.
|
| Monoammonium
Glycirhimate (Licorice extract) |
Rebalances dermal cells & helps
reduce the formation of melanin, (pigment that gives skin color).
Offers significant healing effects, plus firming, soothing, emollient
and anti-bacterial benefits. Glycyrrhetinic acid, isolated from
Glycyrrihiza glabra (licorice) is widely used in the cosmetic industry.
Licorice inhibit tyrosinase activity of melanocytes without any
cytotoxicity, it also showed that UV-B–induced pigmentation.
The anti-inflammatory properties of Licorice were attributed to
inhibition of super-oxide anion production and cyclo-oxygenase
activity. Tyrosinase is a copper-containing enzyme that promotes
the oxidation of phenols (as tyrosine ) and is widespread in plants
and animals. |
| Mulberry |
This tyrosinase inhibitor was isolated from a
plant herbal extract. The plant roots from which paper mulberry was
isolated were collected in Korea. The tyrosinase inhibition of paper
mulberry was compared to kojic acid and HQ. The IC50, the concentration
causing 50% inhibition of the activity of tyrosinase, was reported
to be 0.396% compared to 5.5% for hydroquinone and 10.0% for kojic
acid. |
| Polyglutamin Acid / y-PGA |
POLYGLUTAMIN ACID: Effectively promotes cellular
turnover, and has soothing, astringent, and antibacterial properties. -PGA hydrogel (polyglutamic acid) used in our products is the
most powerful hydrating agent ever discovered! Originally discovered
in the marine jellyfish, -PGA is a fermented soya bean extract
of Natto Gum. It is a bio-polymer containing a single chain of

beauty treatments used today. It “enlivens” dry, mature
and wrinkled complexions, and also to soothes sensitive skin at
any age. |
| Rosa Centifolia |
flower extract is an extract of the flowers of
the cabbage rose, Rosa centifolia. It is classed as a biological
product and is used as a miscellaneous skin-conditioning agent
and fragrance ingredient. It is known as cabbage rose extract as
well as rose extract.
This aqueous extract is not as concentrated as its volatile oil cousin,
yet has the same benefits and therapeutic effects on the skin, with
minor variances, as there is a slight difference in the chemical
composition of the flowers.
The aqueous extract also contains a bit of tannin as well as a bitter
principle, which translates into it having a more toning effect,
which is helpful to tighten the skin. |
| Safflower Oil |
It has an exceptionally high linoleic acid content.
Excellent choice for the replenishment of moisture. Softens, moisturizes.
Safflower oil is expressed from safflower seeds. It has one of
the highest linoleic acid contents of all known oils. Safflower
oil has superior skin compatibility and increases the moisture
content of the skin (skin hydra-tion is proportional to the level
of linoleic acid in the skin). |
| Seamollent Extract |
Has a film forming characteristics that provide
a perceptible skin tightening effect and leaves skin feeling silky
smooth |
| Silk Crystal |
A naturally occurring colourless crystal or white
powder commonly found in a variety of rocks. High in various minerals,
silica helps to remineralise the skin, and it also has a softening
effect. |
| Sodium Hyaluronate |
A protein occurring in the skin that appears to
bind water in the interstitial spaces between skin cells while
it forms a gel-like substance to hold these cells together. Helps
increase elasticity and soften lines and wrinkles. |
| Soluble Collagen |
A class of chemicals necessary for all cellular
functions. Protein is made up of complex combinations of amino
acids and have a good affinity with the skin. They help retain
water and reduce water loss on the skin’s surface. |
Titanium Dioxide (Sunscreen)
|
A “natural white powder mineral with the distinction
of being a “class one”, “full spectrum” sunscreen.
In cosmetic use it has the greatest concealing power of all white
pigment. |
| Titanium Oxide (Sunscreen) |
In almost every sunscreen with a physical blocker,
titanium dioxide is found both because of its refractive index
and its resistance to discoloration under ultraviolet light. This
advantage enhances its stability and ability to protect the skin
from ultraviolet light. |
| Tyrosinase enzyme |
Tyrosinase enzyme: is a rate-limiting enzyme for
melanin synthesis, and defects in the enzymes activity lead to
the albinism in humans. It also seems likely that racial differences
in human colour may primarily be due to differences in the tyrosinase
activity in the melanin cells from varying skin types. Melanin
cells derived from black skin have up to ten times more tyrosinase
activity and produce up to ten times more melanin than do melanin
cells in white skin. Because tyrosinase catalyzes melanin synthesis,
tyrosinase inhibitors are important in cosmetic skin-whitening.
Oxidative stress contributes to skin aging and can adversely affect
skin health, which means antioxidants active in skin cells may
support skin health. |
| Vitamin B3 |
Helps improve chemical effectiveness;
found in products such as Cellex-C Hydra 5-B. Vitamin B3 (niacin)
has been shown to effectively treat acne. It
may even help prevent and slow down the development of skin cancer.
It is found in the following; Cranberries, Tomatoes, Soy sauce (tamari),
Summer squash (any variety), Green peas |
| Vitamin C/Ascorbic Acid |
L- Ascorbic Acid (also known as Vitamin C )
The Active Ingredient in C + Firming Serum is L-Ascorbic Acid. It
is the most effective form of Vitamin C and acts as a powerful
antioxidant. L-Ascorbic Acid is the only form of Vitamin C that
is easily absorbed by the skin and is a key element in any anti-aging
skincare regimen. Skin is exposed to a variety of environmental insults on a daily
basis. UVA/UVB radiation, smoke, air pollution and stress all contribute
to the free radical/oxidation process that breaks down the collagen
layer of your skin. During this oxidation process, environmental
insults cause the skin to form free radicals (O1 molecules) that
need to attach to other molecules to become stable (O2 molecules).
These free radicals attach to the skin's collagen molecules. This
contributes to the breakdown of this collagen layer. Skin starts
to look old and loses its natural firmness and elasticity. L-Ascorbic
Acid protects your skin from environmental damage and prevents
the formation of free radicals. L-Ascorbic Acid is necessary for
collagen production and helps to stimulate your skin to produce
healthy collagen layers. Over time, the L-Ascorbic Acid in the
C + Firming Serum will help to reduce hyperpigmentation, lighten
brown spots and improve the texture and firmness of your skin for
a younger-looking, more radiant appearance.
There is an increasing awareness that vitamin C has a wide variety
of role in human health. New therapeutic uses are being investigated
daily, among recent discoveries is that Vitamin C can play important
role in the health and beauty of your skin. Vitamin C as ascorbyl
form has been tested extensively and reported in journal of American
Academy of Dermatology to inhibit the production of the melanin
(Melanin is the pigment which give the skin it's dark colour),
when Vitamin C inhibit the production of the melanin, a lighter
and brighter skin will reveal in just few weeks. Vitamin C does
more than that also; vitamin C is required for collagen synthesis,
which declines markedly in aging skin. As we grow older, we suffer
diminished micro capillary circulation within our skin, which deprives
our skin cells of the supply of vitamin C it needs for youthful
collagen synthesis. The topical application of vitamin C in a skin-penetrating
medium can dramatically enhance the availability of vitamin C for
collagen production.
Vitamin C regenerates vitamin E in the skin. An antioxidant like
vitamin E can only suppress a limited number of free radicals before
it runs out of electrons to donate. Vitamin C regenerates vitamin
E and enables vitamin E to provide sustained antioxidant protection
in the skin's elastin fibers. Vitamin C plays a vital role in skin
repair. When your skin is injured, its Vitamin C content is used
up rapidly in the scavenging of free radicals, and in synthesizing
collagen to speed healing. |
| Vitamin E Tocopherol |
Antioxidant; helps prevent ultraviolet light damage
to the skin, so is incorporated into a variety of cosmetic as well
as sunscreen preparations. Helps to moisturizer skin as it is oil-soluble.
Alpha Tocopherol, or vitamin E, is a fat-soluble vitamin in eight
forms that is an important antioxidant. Vitamin E is often used
in skin creams and lotions because it is claimed by the manufacturers
to play a role in encouraging skin healing and reducing scarring
after injuries such as burns. TOCOPHEROL: Vitamin E. An anti-oxidant
and cellular renewal ingredient that when combined with vitamins
A and C, acts as a preservative in the oil phase of cosmetic formulations. |
| White Willow Bark Extract |
Contains salicin, a substance that when taken orally
is converted by the digestive process to salicylic acid (beta hydroxy
acid). Willow bark may indeed have some anti-inflammatory benefits
for skin because, in this form, it appears to retain more of its
aspirin-like composition. Rich in phenolic compounds and salicin (glycodise
of salicyl alcohol). Its constituents are salicylic glycosides
and tannins, which contribute to its analgesic properties. A natural
form of salicylic acid, a beta hydroxy acid widely used as an exfoliant
and to keep pores clean of debris. |
| Xanthan gum |
A stabilizer that keeps cosmetic ingredients from
separating and helps maintain a consistent texture |
FAQ:
Why do people want to lighten Skin Colour?
Why do you think many
people would like to have lighter skin complexion?
Skin whitening has a long history in Asia stemming back to ancient
China and Japan. A white complexion was seen as noble and aristocratic,
especially
in Southeast Asia. Only the rich could afford to stay indoors while peasants
worked in fields.
I think there are many factors why many Asians prefer
fair skins. One of them is that it is looked as a superior colour. It
could be because
most
of the
rulers in the Asian subcontinent were fair in complexion. And this attitude
has followed since then. To add to that we also associate fair complexion
to westernisation which people in Asian countries are following. Moreover
we have
been told since childhood about mythological evil characters as dark in
colour.
Surprisingly if you look closely at the English language
you will see that we use the word fair to mean nice and good and dark
to symbolise
ugly and
evil.
Besides this the media has also played a major role
in this matter. Almost all actresses, all models in asian subcontinent
are fair in
complexion.
Why this fuss on people lightening
their skin seen in such a negative light?
I think skin lightening is a personal choice and it
should remain that way. Everyone has the right to decide what suits them
the best. What
makes them
happy or make them feel confident. As you would see people colour their
hair green, pink which are not natural shades, but it is not looked
down upon.
Similarly there is no reason why someone should look down upon using skin
lightening products. Problem starts when people tend to overdo things or
become dependent on such things.
What products can
be used?
I think before a person starts to use a product they
should make sure that the product is safe to use and contains no harmful
chemicals.
Safest bet
these days is to use products with natural extracts which have been certified
by the country’s national health agency.
What can be the side effects of using such products?
The side effects can be psychological dependence,
or biological such as rashes, blood disorders or even neurological problems.
These are
seen usually with
products that have high concentration of chemicals such as hydroqinone,
mercury and topical steroid creams. It is best to use products with
natural extracts.
Prevalence
A recent study in 2002 showed that around 77% people
in Lagos in Nigeria were using skin lightening products. In another survey
it was found
that 66% men in HongKong wished their partners were fairer in complexion
whereas 50% women wanted their partners to be fairer. The figure
rises to 77% males wanting their partners to be white in Malaysia.
Skin
whitening has a long history in Asia, stemming back to ancient China
and Japan, where the saying "one white covers up three ugliness" was
passed through the generations.
A white complexion was seen as noble and aristocratic, especially in
Southeast Asia, where the sun was always out. Only those rich enough
could afford to stay indoors, while peasants baked in the rice fields.
In their early bid to lighten up, Chinese ground pearl
from seashells into powder and swallowed it to whiten their skin, says
Chinese University
chemical pathology professor Christopher Lam Wai-kei, while across
the Yellow Sea, Geisha girls powdered their faces chalk white.
This obsession with whiteness has not faded over time.
A survey by Asia Market Intelligence this year revealed that three quarters
of
Malaysian
men thought their partners would be more attractive with lighter
complexions.
In Hong Kong two thirds of men prefer fairer skin,
while half the local women wanted their men paler. Almost half of Asians
aged
25 to 34 years
used skin whiteners in a business that some analysts have said
could be worth billions of dollars.
